Seeing Coldplay for the fourth time gave me an opportunity to take my daughter to her first concert. She had been asking for over a year to see them, and I had promised her I would take her the next time they came on tour. Coldplay took the stage strong with Violet Hill and Clocks before settling into In My Place. Chris Martin tossed himself around the stage as they continued through most of the songs on Viva La Vida before coming right in front of us and playing a revved up version of Talk and God put a Smile upon your Face on an elevated lit side stage. The best part of the show was Chris serenading the crowd to Fix You, but for me it was when he gave his homage to Wayne and his alley, before working his way through Waiting for Superman. For Marleigh, she had to wait through two encores before hearing the song she had waited over a year for. She smiled and laid back on her mom as Chris sang a lullaby of hope and wonder for her - "look at the stars, look how they shine for you".
